Meet Wanda D. Cohen Clark

Wanda Denise Cohen Clark is the Founder and CEO of WriteTime Development Group, LLC,

a creative and technical communications firm located in Marietta, Georgia.

Ms. Cohen Clark holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications with an emphasis in radio and television

broadcasting from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.  While at NC State, she was

initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Omicron Chapter and was a member of New Horizons

Choir, the Black Repertory Theatre and Secretary of the Black Students Board.

Upon graduation from NC State in 1987, she searched for a television news reporter position on the East Coast

but then secured a radio personality position at a small Metro Atlanta Christian radio station with the hopes of

starting a news team at the station. After realizing there was no alignment on developing a news team, she

decided to focus on pursuing communications career opportunities where she could showcase her writing and

editing craft and was hired in her first corporate position as a Communications Coordinator for Chick-fil-A, Inc.

Under the umbrella of the Marketing Department, Wanda was a member of the Public Relations, Advertising

and Creative Services Teams and was responsible for writing, designing, editing newsletters, magazines, annual

reports and marketing/advertising materials; video scripting and production; writing executive communications

and speeches; managing press communications of programs, products, promotions and special events.

Wanting to advance her career, she worked as a freelance writer for local parenting and fashion magazines

while also embarking on technical writing, instructional design and training assignments through local IT

staffing firms. After working an assignment with the State of Georgia where IBM was the lead corporation for

the project, Ms. Cohen Clark was invited to join IBM as a full-time employee in the roles of instructional

designer/trainer/SAP consultant. This would be her second corporate position. IBM’s global layoffs after the

9/11 tragedy, however, led her back into consulting through IT and Communications staffing firms such as

Spherion, MDI, Matrix, Communique’, The Baer Group and North Highland/TrueBridge Resources. Through

these firms and others, Ms. Cohen Clark has had the privilege of working for several Fortune 50O companies;

many of which are global. Her client list includes: Delta Air Lines, The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot,

AT&T, SunTrust, HD Supply, Cobb County Board of Education, The Chestnut Firm, McKesson, Lockheed Martin,

Georgia Department of Education, Newell Rubbermaid, Coca-Cola Enterprises and Georgia-Pacific. Her roles

have included communications specialist, public relations chairman, organizational change management

specialist, technical writer, instructional designer and training specialist—all of which have been quite

rewarding.

Wanda is an active member of Turner Chapel AME Church in Marietta where she participates in the Worship

Arts Ministry (music and drama). She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Rho Zeta Omega Chapter, where she

has served in multiple leadership roles. In her leisure, she enjoys singing, acting, reading and writing. She loves

performing arts and has graced local theatrical stages. She is also an aspiring children’s book author. Wanda is a

native Atlantan and currently resides in Marietta with her two sons.
